De A in VUCA staat voor ambiguïteit. We kennen allemaal wel die plaatjes waarin je een konijn danwel een eend ziet, of een oude en een jonge vrouw, of een oude man of mensen bij een grot. Plaatjes die meerdere betekenissen tegelijkertijd kunnen hebben. Het zou dan ook goed zijn, zegt dit artikel over The Misguided Drive to Measure ‘Learning Outcomes’ in de New York Times, als we beter worden in het omgaan met dit soort dubbelzinnigheid. Niet alleen met afbeeldingen maar als belangrijk aspect van kritisch denken.
